Property Description

Silk Pavilions is a luxurious Retreat set high on the hill overlooking the amazing vista of The Border Ranges and Mt. Warning. Choose either our stand alone Thai Villa or one of our fabulous Tented Suites. So different!! From the comfort of your bed or whilst enjoying a sundowner on your huge private deck you will not see one light for miles instead just a vista of trees, fields and mountains. This is peace and quite at its best, where the only sounds you will hear are those of the birds and crickets! This area is the most bio-diverse region of Australia, and contains the largest sub-tropical rainforest remnant in the world, and the biggest extinct shield volcano in the world. Set amongst the 100 acres of tranquil bush land, lakes and natural rainforest our fabulous luxury tents are located only 50 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport and 45 minutes from Byron Bay. Lots of fabulous walks, picnic spots, Art Galleries, markets, restaurants and of course Nimbin to visit if you need distracting whilst staying with us!

If it is the Thai Teak Villa you choose then think beautiful wooden floors, opulent Asian furnishings including a solid teak king size bed and large picture windows leading onto your large terrace overlooking the Border Range and Mt Warning. With the state of the art amenities discretely infused with traditional materials you have your very own, SILK PAVILION.

Private dining is available for both breakfast and dinner (if required) on your own private dining pavilion if you are staying in our Villa or a DIY BBQ pack can be enjoyed on your veranda if staying in one of our luxury tented suites.

Sit back and relax whilst you enjoy the peace and solitude away from high speed Internet and hectic schedules. However should you require conveniences such as, wireless Internet connection, DVD and TV then the facility is in your pavilion , please feel free to use it! (Not available i our tents!)

We also have our Thai Style Suite in the main house pavilion. With its own private entrance, beautiful teak bathroom with bathtub, queen size bed, TV/DVD and a private deck where your breakfast is served at the time of your choosing.

Whatever you choose you will enjoy the peace, solitude, views and the fact it is SO different and fabulous!!

Things To Do

The Northern Rivers Region of Australia is located on the far North coast of NSW and runs from Grafton, Lismore and Ballina in the South, to the Tweed Shire in the North. Whilst other shires in the Northern Rivers region claim to be the gateway to the rainforests and World Heritage Listed National Parks of Northern NSW, in the Tweed Shire you have finally arrived.

Nestled right up against the NSW/Queensland Border at Tweed Heads in the North and stretching down the Tweed Coast and Tweed Hinterland to just before Byron Bay in the South, the Tweed Shire is not only famous for its unsurpassed beauty, but for its geographical and cultural diversity and terrific climate ¿ with a summer mean temperature range of 18 to 30 Celsius (64 to 86F), and winter being a marvellous experience with mean temperatures ranging from 7 to 22 C (45 to 72F), which means log fires at night and t-shirts and shorts during the day.

A visit to the Tweed brings you to the largest sub-tropical rainforest remnant in the world, the most bio-diverse region in Australia and the biggest extinct shield volcano in the world.

With its pristine beaches (and the added advantage of no stinging jellyfish in summer like the Queensland beaches), rivers and creeks meandering through lush green valleys and towering rainforests, the Tweed Shire is spectacularly beautiful.

The Tweed Valley is an area of such vast natural beauty that you should be sure to plan to stay for more than just a few days in order to see as much as possible.

Home to 5 world heritage listed national parks

The world's largest extinct shield volcano above water

Highest level of bio-diversity in Australia

A range of activities from golf and horse riding to micro light and light plane flights, kayaking, bush walking, bird watching

Arts and crafts with regular markets across the shire

Art gallery home to the world's richest portrait prize

Visit Nimbin. A must, once in your life!!
