Christchurch Earthquake

In the early hours of the morning on Saturday 4 September, Christchurch was affected by a major earthquake. Peppers Clearwater Resort received minimal damage. Guests planning to visit Peppers Clearwater Resort in the near future, should be aware that while there was minimal impact at the property, that the surrounding area, especially the Christchurch CBD, received some major damage and will be in a state of repair for upcoming weeks.

All accommodation has its own parking space, whether it is a remote controlled garage or covered carport where you can securely park your vehicle.

Drive into Peppers Clearwater Resort along Clearwater Lane and check in at Reception in the Clubhouse. If your arrival time is before 2.00pm we will do our best to have the room ready. Please do advise of a late arrival.

Archery- Test your skill with the bow and arrow and take part in archery. Building strength and coordination, this activity is fun as well as good for you. Individual and group lessons are available by contacting the Golf Shop.

Bicycling - Enjoy a cycle around the various tracks around the resort or venture next door to the Groynes Scenic Reserve. Mountain bikes are available for hire at Reception.

Fly Fishing- Our resident fly fishing instructor and guide provides comprehensive practical lessons with personalised service and can organise hire equipment and licenses. The abundance of brown and rainbow trout in the various lakes and streams at the resort ensure this is a pleasurable experience. We can also arrange off-site fly fishing expeditions in remote locations. Book a picnic hamper and enjoy the thrill and challenge of fly fishing.

Massage- Relaxation and pampering is an essential of any holiday. We can arrange a range of massage in the comfort of your own room. Escape, soothe your mind and relax your body.

Tennis- Two all weather tennis courts are available for hire. Bookings and equipment hire are available through the Golf Shop.

Pentaque- Take part in a friendly game of pentaque. A game of skill, played by throwing balls at a target is the oldest game known to mankind. Easy to play, it is great for all ages.

Golf -The championship golf course designed by John Darby in consultation with Sir Bob Charles, is home to the New Zealand PGA and offers players a choice of 5 tee positions. It is a challenging yet enjoyable course for players of all levels. The Golf Shop provides individual and group coaching, a fully stocked golf shop, golf and club hire and electric carts.

Off Johns Road, which is the bypass route for the airport, between Main North Road and Main South Road.

* From the Airport to Peppers Clearwater Resort

* Leave the airport and turn left at the first roundabout onto Russley Road and head straight along it.

* Go straight through the next three roundabouts and stay on Russley Road

* Stay on Russley Road until it becomes Johns Road. You will see signs from Johns Road to turn into Clearwater Resort.

* Travelling time to the hotel from the airport is about 7 minutes.

* From North to Peppers Clearwater Resort

* When you come into the suburb of Belfast you will be on State Highway 1.

* Route 1 will turn off at Johns Rd so you need to get into the right hand lane to follow the SH1. Peppers Clearwater Resort is about three minutes drive from this turnoff on your right hand side.

* Travelling time from Belfast is about 4 minutes.

* From the South to Peppers Clearwater Resort

* Travelling along Main South Rd (Route No 1) you will reach the suburb of Hornby, which is on the outskirts of Christchurch.

* Turn left into Carmen Road to follow Route No 1. Follow Carmen Road until it becomes Russley Road. Drive past the airport and continue along Russley Road until it becomes Johns Road. Clearwater Resort is found on the left hand side of the road.

Travelling time from Hornby is about 20 minutes
