Both cottages feature comfy queen size beds with electric blanket and snug feather doona, a heated immaculate-bathroom with modern amenities, assorted luxuries and a large walk-in shower. (Garden Cottage also has a claw-foot bath). The Property: In this cool-climate garden there are drifts of colorful bulbs and fruit trees laden with blossom in the spring while masses of roses, irises, lavenders, fuchsias, Lupins, hollyhocks and perennials-alike make a wonderful summer display. A kaleidoscope of color from the deciduous trees heralds the autumn and in mid-winter the drifts of hellebores and French lavender are delightful. Naturally there is an organic veggie garden, a berry patch, herbs and fruit trees for providing fresh produce. There is a myriad of birds living in the garden and Wedge Tail eagles are regularly seen over-head. The lush pasture for a few lazy cows also makes for a fine feed for wallabies and other wildlife as the night draws in. On the banks of the pristine river, passing thru from Mt. Wellington, at the edge of our property you may be lucky enough to spot platypus and native trout. A Perfect Location: Margate Cottage Boutique Bed and Breakfast has been created as a haven for adults in a picturesque and peaceful rural location on the fringe of Margate, a small seaside town 35 minutes from Hobart airport. This region boasts spectacular scenery from incredible coastline to wilderness forests. Hobart's many attractions are nearby and our central location is perfect, giving easy access to many popular tourist attractions such as Tahune Forest Airwalk, Hastings Caves, Ida Bay Railway and Huon Jet Boating in the Huon Valley. Via the Channel there's waterfront hamlets and sandy beaches, Bruny Island and perhaps an award-winning eco-cruise, Peppermint Bay water-front dining, a sheep cheesery at Woodbridge and Cygnet famous for its artists and quirky cafes, for you to explore. There are artist's studios, open gardens, bushwalks and museums for you to discover. Diverse produce such as Atlantic salmon, oysters, organic mushrooms, berries, stone fruits and apples, cool climate wines can be sampled or purchased at the many farm-gate stalls, acclaimed restaurants and award winning wineries as you explore the region.

Travel Directions
Directions from Hobart to Margate Cottage Boutique Bed and Breakfast : Depart Hobart via the (A6) Southern Outlet towards Kingston then continue on the (B68) Channel Highway to Margate. At Margate before the village turn right onto (C622) Sandfly. Travel 1.5 km, turn right into Miandetta Drive. Margate Cottage entrance is 300 metres on the left. Follow the reception signs along the laneway.
