"Lakeside Holiday Letting" is a holiday house located in Lakeside Estate, 5 minutes drive from the heart of Historic Yungaburra Village on the Atherton Tablelands, Tropical Far North Queensland. Yungaburra is only one hours scenic drive from Cairns along the Gillies Highway via Gordonvale. The house has water frontage to Lake Tinaroo.

Spend your leisure time relaxing on the patio overlooking Lake Tinaroo or enjoy the many attractions and activities that are available in the area. Activities include fishing, skiing, sailing, canoeing, bushwalking and swimming. Attractions include the famous Yungaburra Markets held on the 4th Saturday of every month, various award-winning restaurants, arts and crafts, pottery, souvenirs, gemstones, woodwork, Lake Eacham, Lake Barrine, Curtain Fig Tree, Malanda Falls, Millaa Millaa Falls, Millaa Millaa Lookout and many other attractions.

During the night you may hear the shrilling sounds of a curlew or early in the morning you may be woken by the kookaburras laughing.

This fully self-contained holiday house features three bedrooms with a wide verandah overlooking the waters of Lake Tinaroo. As seen in the photos a very cheerful interior with lots of bright, bold colours. A real home away from home. Enjoy the beautiful countryside. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

Appliances include a television, DVD, stereo, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, electric frypan, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer. A BBQ is also available on the patio. Suitable for families this house can accommodate up to 8 people. There are three queen size beds and two single beds. Linen is supplied.

Local phone for connection to the internet if required.

There is room for 3 cars in the carport and room to park cars below the house (water frontage to Lake Tinaroo).

There are many activities available at Lake Tinaroo. If you're a keen fisherman there's always the chance you could catch yourself a barramundi or one of the many other fish that live in the dam (fishing license required) or why not borrow the red claw pots that we have available and try your luck at catching some red claw. Other activities include skiing, sailing, boating and canoeing. Plenty of room in the back yard beside the waters of Lake Tinaroo to store your own ski boat, catamaran or canoe.

The birdlife in the area is quite spectacular. Feel free to check out the "What Bird Is That" book which is available for your use. The birds that are highlighted in the book have been seen by us in this area. Some of them include pelicans, cormorants, egrets, herons, black-necked stork (jabiru), ibus, spoonbills, black swan, whistling ducks, pygmy geese, brush turkeys, quails, rails, brolgas, stilts, terns, doves, parrots, kingfishers, kookaburras, curlews, and butcherbirds. As you can see from the list above if you are a bird lover there is a wide variety of birdlife to be seen in this area.

At dawn and dusk you may be one of the lucky ones to spot a platypus living in its own habitat in our back yard. They are seen quite frequently especially when the dam is low.

Bushwalking is another past time in the area. The walks around Lake Barrine, Lake Eacham and along the Petersen Creek in Yungaburra are highly recommended. There are many other walking tracks on the Atherton Tablelands which can be viewed in the book called "Tropical Walking Tracks" available for your use.

From Cairns follow the Bruce Highway S for 24 km to Gordonvale. Turn right towards the Gillies Highway and continue W for 39 km to Yungaburra. As you come into Yungaburra take the first street on the right (Maple St), go past the Yungaburra State Primary School on your right. At the end of Maple Street turn right into Barrine Road. Take the next turn right into Park Ave which runs into Jacaranda Drive. Jacaranda Drive runs into Oleander Drive. We are number 20 on the right hand side with water frontage to Lake Tinaroo.
