Great Keppel Island Holiday Village offers a "true island getaway" in a down-to-earth, friendly environment where you can experience the slow, lazy days of island life. The Village is nestled in palm and gum tree gardens less than a minute's walk to two beautiful white sand beaches.

Accommodation is simple and comfortable, including cabins with ensuite; and double/twin rooms with shared amenities. Favourite among our guests are our double/twin canvas tents, permanently erected on wooden decking with comfortable outdoor table and chairs to relax into after a day exploring the island. For families, we have two self-contained houses that can sleep four or six people, providing you with a home away from home holiday. All linen, kitchen equipment and snorkelling gear is provided.

We offer guided kayak and motorised canoe trips to surrounding islands and excellent snorkelling spots. Or you can spend your day relaxing in the hammocks - and then watching the sunset from the main beach. With 17 perfect beaches, great swimming and snorkelling, and bushwalking tracks to explore this mostly uninhabited island, you can definitely get away from the fast pace of daily life.

Great Keppel Island Security Car Park is located on the right hand side of the main road just before turning left to Rosslyn Bay Harbour. They will drop off and pick up from the ferry. Non-secure parking is available at ferry terminal.

Check in time is 12.00 noon. We meet ferries when they arrive on the island to pick up your luggage and show you where the Village is located.

Families with children age infant to 10 yrs suited to self-contained holiday houses. Children over 10 welcome in Village accommodation.

Guided kayak or motorised canoe trips and drop offs to surrounding islands and beaches. Water taxi drop offs and pick up available to beaches & islands nearby. Watersports activities available at Watersports Hut on main beach. Swimming, snorkelling, kayak & catamaran hire, and bushwalks.

Great Keppel Island lies off the coast of Yeppoon, 45 kms from Rockhampton. Freedom Fast Cat ferries depart from Pier 1 Rosslyn Bay Harbour: (effective 8 April 2008)

Tuesdays at 10.30 am; returns at 2.00 pm

Wednesday to Sunday at 9.15 am; returns at 3.45 pm

Friday additional trip at 3.00 pm; returns at 10.00 am

No service on Mondays.

Young's Bus Service picks up in Rockhampton & drop off at ferry terminal.

Air Capricorn flys direct from Rockhampton Airport to & from island. Book on (07)4927 4355.

If driving, turn onto Yeppoon Road north of Rockhampton. Follow for 40 kms; turn right at third roundabout (Information Centre) and follow signs to Rosslyn Bay Harbour. Great Keppel island Security Carpark is on the right just before turning left to the Harbour.
