This room derives its name from Captain Edward Ditcham who was at the time of building the house, the Master Warden of the Port of Launceston. He built the house on the same site as his Bone mill on the corner of Maitland St and Connaught Crescent. A grand Victorian four-poster bed, king size, is a dominant feature of this room which is decorated with rich navy velvet curtains. The nautical decor includes memorabilia spanning a century. The room has a built-in corner ensuite of unusual design.
