Cancellation Policy
If a booking is cancelled 14 or more days before your stay your tariff will be refunded less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations received 7 days prior to your stay will be refunded IF we are able to rebook the cottage. Failure to arrive results in a loss of the whole tariff. PLEASE NOTE: any refund attracts a $50 handling fee.
Travel Directions
Coming from Melbourne on Eastlink, follow the signs to turn off on the Burwood Highway and head for the hills, you will notice the 3 towers on the mountain top. Come up Burwood Highway to Upper Ferntree Gully, go under the railway bridge and turn left on the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road for 12 kms to Olinda Village. Once you reach the village, follow the road which veers to the left and at the end of the shops turn immediately right into Monash Avenue. Continue down this road 500 mtrs (over 3 speed humps) until you come to Candlelight Cottages on your right, this is reception. Please park at 9 Monash Avenue, Olinda and we will direct you to your cottage. The Melways reference is 66 H6. If using a Satellite navigation system, PLEASE CHECK against the above directions as they tend to take you on a merry chase around the hills! We are easy to find, so recommend you call us if you are lost.

Candlelight Cottage (c.1880) is in a peaceful rainforest garden setting with tinkling streams. It offers 3 bedrooms - one Queen feather topped bed & one King bed which splits. 3rd bedroom has a single bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower as well as a romantic spa bath with a glass ceiling, hairdryer, luxurious linens and toiletries. There is a full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, electric frypan, early Kooka stove, coffee maker and an adjoining laundry with a washing machine, dryer and iron & ironing board. Full breakfast provisions are left in your cottage for you to enjoy when you are ready. Children are very welcome and a portacot is available ($10 charge). Small Pets too are welcome by arrangement too in this cottage.

Both upstairs bedrooms have vistas of the tree tops and queen beds, TV, quality linens and dressing gowns. There is a spare fold down bed and a portacot if you need to add a little person to your booking. Downstairs the Coonara wood burning fire and central heating keep you cosy while you can enjoy the setting through the many full size windows in the cottage. The bathroom (downstairs) has a deep luxurious spa bath with a shower over it and a picture window to look out at the trees. There is a full kitchen, a large dining table, comfortable couches, books, CDs, DVDs, new LCD TV and there are sunny outdoor areas. Children are welcome by arrangement in this cottage. There is a laundry planned for 2011.

Cottage in the Forest offers complete privacy on an acre of forested land between Sassafras and Olinda villages. A huge bookcase, with lots of reading materials, separates the kingsize bed (which can split into singles) from the loungeroom with its open wood fire, flat screen TV, dining table, comfortable lounge and chairs. The newly renovated bathroom has a very large spa bath, a walk in shower and a big picture window. The king bed (with electric blankets) also overlooks the treeferns with a floor to ceiling window. There is a full kitchen to make your stay comfortable - a perfect place to enjoy with your loved one! Luscious linen, quality toiletries, thick gowns and full breakfast provisions will ensure your stay is memorable.
