Take a step back in time and experience simple colonial 19th century Hobart in an exquisitely restored heritage listed Georgian Victorian merchant's home. Enjoy stunning views of Mt. Wellington while you relax on the verandah or take a stroll through the lovely organic kitchen garden.

Located in a quiet area with easy parking and a short walk to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. Only 10 minutes from Hobart city centre, Salamanca Place and the historic waterfront with public transport at the door.

Your rest and privacy are guaranteed by thick sandstone walls and separate entry. Friendly hosts Karen and Roger have furnished large ground floor rooms with 19th and early 20th century furniture and collectibles. Each room is self contained with a table, chairs, crockery, cutlery, electric jug and basin. A microwave, toaster, refrigerator and laundry also available. Very comfortable beds are draped in crisp white linen with warm quilts and electric blankets.

Delicious home made Tasmanian breakfast provisions are supplied daily with brewed tea, plunger coffee and hot cocoa available 24/7. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the spacious verandah or in the privacy of your room. Upon request we are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements.

Easy access to attractions, sporting venues, shopping, theaters, hospitals and function centers and proximity to main roads makes it simple to head off for day trips to the Huon Valley, Hastings Caves, Richmond, Port Arthur, Mt Field National Park and Derwent Valley. The airport is only a short 20 minute drive or take the Airporter bus service.

Day 1: Visit Port Arthur where every building, every feature has a story to tell.

Day 2: For a nature-based experience visit Tahune AirWalk with its spectacular views of Tasmania's famous Southern Forests.

Day 3: Spend the day in Hobart taking in the stunning view from Mount Wellington; browse the fine art and craft shops in historic Salamanca Place for the perfect memento; lunch on Tasmania's fine seafood and cool climate wine at one of the many restaurants by the water; visit the Huon Pine Collection at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and take a tour of the Maritime Museum.

Day 4: Historic Richmond has a gaol, Australia's oldest catholic church still in use, horse drawn carriage tour, a maze and Zoodoo Wildlife Park. Lunch in town or at one of the nearby wineries.
