Built in 1912, Ambleside retains old-world charm, yet features modern day comforts like en suites and air-conditioning! Featuring spacious guestrooms and exclusive guest lounge areas, guests are afforded the privacy they deserve. Each guestroom features Queen beds, private en suites, irons, hairdryers, toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and they are all fully air-conditioned for year round comfort.

Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the lake with an extensive a-la-carte menu to choose from. Breakfast is included daily.

This property is rented exlusively for 2 people and as is the case with private cottages, breakfast is not included or provided. You are welcome to utilize the full kitcen facilities that are on offer, or head off to one of the many cafe's close by. This property is not part of Ambleside - it is a totally separate business, but it is managed by Ambleside on behalf of the property owner. Check in is by mutual arrangement and you are welcome to check in anytime after 2pm.

It is a condition of booking with us, that all guests contact with us 24hours prior to their booking date to advise or re-confirm their arrival time. If we know what time you wish to check-in we can ensure that someone will be available for your check-in procedure.

If you cannot advise an approximate arrival time - or fail to arrive at your advised time, we will make arrangements to leave a key out for you. Instructions on accessing your room will be with your key. You can call us on 53482691 or 0417 213913.

CHECK-OUT: Our check-out time is 11am.

NOTE: Early check-ins and late check-outs may incur fees. Early check-ins must also be prepaid. If you do request an early check-in but fail to arrive at your requested time, your payment will be forfeited and no refunds offered.

Please enquire about our half day rate if you want an extended checkout. Additional hours are charged at $20 per hour and are strictly subject to availability and never guaranteed.

Children and Extra Guests Details

This property is not suitable for children under 7 years. No facilities available for infants (cots etc).

Deluxe Room is able to accommodate a third person at an additional cost of $55 per night.

Minimum 2 nights stay on weekends. Single night requests for Saturdays will be considered in the 7 day period prior (if availability allows).

Things To Do

Ambleside is ideally situated on the quiet side of Lake Daylesford and is walking distance to many restaurants, galleries & tourist attractions. Enjoy the regular market every Sunday, or the Farmers Market held on the 1st Sat of each month. There is also the indoors Mill Market, open every day 10-6pm. Restaurants, galleries and most tourist attractions are all within 5 mins drive. Daylesford has an abundance of things to do, or it's just a great place to sit around and not do anything!

Travel Directions

Travel to Daylesford via the Western Hway or the Calder.

If you take the Western turn off at Ballan and follow the Daylesford Sign.

If you take the Calder, turn off at Woodend and take the Daylesford turnoff at the end of town.

Daylesford is approximately 30-35k from either Highway. Come into Daylesford, find the BP Petrol Station and head over the lake. We are located on the 'quiet' side of Lake Daylesford and look back directly to LakeHouse.

During business hours, the Visitor Information Centre will be able to direct you if you can't find us.

If you are coming via Public transport, please contact us with travel details and we will organise to pick you up from the local Bus-stop.

If you need directions texted to your mobile phone, please let me know and I will do so. We have heard of many GPS's leading people astray and coming to Daylesford the "long" way.

Maximum Guests: 2

Spacious room with sliding doors leading to your own private veranda and glorious Lake Views. Room features QS bed, en suite, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-fridge and air-con. This room also features a small sofa as well as a TV/DVD player. (You are welcome to BYO DVD's) All linen and toiletries provided. Room is strictly non-smoking.

Rate is for 2 people; add $55 for a third person.

3. Queen Room (Standard Double).

Maximum Guests: 2

Queen size Bed, private en suite, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-fridge and air-con. Tariff incls full cooked a-la-carte Breakfast served in the Dining Room overlooking the Lake. All linen and toiletries provided. All rooms are strictly non-smoking. Tariff is for 2 people.

4. VUE Private 1BR S/C Villa for 2

Maximum Guests: 2

Accommodation for 2 people in a private villa (located next door to Ambleside), offering stunning views of Lake Daylesford and surrounds. This property is fully self contained and as with most self contained properties, breakfast is not included. Full kitchen facilities are at your disposal or if you're feeling enegertic, you can walk to any of the cafes close by.
