Kangaroo

Kangaroo

The kangaroo is undoubtedly one of Australia�s most iconic animals. Throughout Australia there are over 40 different species of kangaroo; the smaller kangaroos are known as wallabies. The largest kangaroo stands taller than a man and is known as the Red Kangaroo.

Kangaroos are herbivorous; they have a strict diet of plants and fungi.

The Platypus lives in Eastern Australia and can be found aside freshwater lakes or rivers. The Platypus main physical features include a duckbill beak, fur and webbed feet and can swim underwater for 2 minutes before needing to return to the surface for oxygen.

Did You Know? The male platypus has venom strong enough to can kill a small dog, or cause excruciating pain among humans.

Emu

Emu

The Australian Emu is the second largest member of the flightless bird family and stand to be 1.5 to 2.0 meters in height. The Emu's diet consists of grass, leaves and small insects.
